MUJI US Flagship Store Coming to Hollywood Boulevard 12/14/2013 7021 Hollywood Blvd.
MUJI US will open its flagship store on December 14, 2013, in the Hollywood Galaxy Shopping Center.  When it opens, MUJI Hollywood will be the largest MUJI store in the US with approximately 8,600 square feet of retail floor space.  MUJI told Racked LA they chose to locate here because the "Hollywood district, the center of visual entertainment, attracts millions of people annually from all over the world. 82nd Annual Hollywood Christmas Parade 12/1/2013
The 82nd Annual Hollywood Christmas Parade will take place Sunday, December 1 at 5:00 p.m. Originating at Hollywood & Highland, the parade route will proceed east on Hollywood Blvd., then south on Vine Street, and west on Sunset Boulevard. The parade will air on the Hallmark Channel on December 11, and on local KTLA station on December 20. For more details, visit www.thehollywoodchristmasparade.org.
Ghirardelli Chocolate Comes to Hollywood 11/15/2013 6834 Hollywood Blvd.
In cooperation with Disney, Ghirardelli has opened its first Soda Fountain and Chocolate Shop on Hollywood Blvd. in the El Capitan Theatre building, replacing the Disney Soda Fountain.  The Disney Studio Store will remain as a feature of the new Soda Fountain.  The location is open Sunday through Thursday, 9:00 am. to 10:00 p.m., and Friday through Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m.  For more information, call 323-466-0399 or visit the website.

Hollywood Not Hosting Halloween 10/31/2013
Halloween night in Hollywood is intended to be a "non-event" in the public realm.  Clubs and restaurants do a robust business that night, but if people are looking for a festival atmosphere, they are encourage to head to West Hollywood.  Both the LAPD and the LA County Sheriff will have a strong presence that night and there will be little tolerance for mayhem.

Adam Perry Lang is an author ("Serious Barbecue"), grand champion chef, and restaurateur.  Now, he's bringing his signature barbecue to Hollywood with a two-month pop-up join on Jimmy Kimmel Live's back lot.  It will be open to the public Tuesdays through Thursdays until September 5 for lunch (11 a.m. - 3 p.m.), take-away (4 - 5 p.m.) and nightly cooking demos and tastings.  Menu items range from $15 - $35; Lang will also donate food to local non-profits L.A.C.E.R. and P.A.T.H.  Go there for lunch to get the details on the rest of the program!

Late Night Board Retreat 5/18/2013
As a continuation of the HPOA Board’s increasing focus on night-time safety issues in the District, the directors have decided to see for themselves the state of Hollywood in the late hours of the evening and early morning.  The weekend of May 18, the board members will be taking to the streets in teams to witness various parts of the District from a new perspective.  Starting at midnight, the teams will embark on several missions to examine the nightlife and experience what it’s like to be a visitor to the BID long after most businesses have closed and the nightclubs are in full swing.  The next morning, they will gather for a debriefing and visioning session to determine priorities for the coming months.

Beginning with a grand opening on April 7, the EaCa Alley will become "Spice Alley" each Sunday, in conjunction with the Hollywood Farmer's Market, which runs from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.  “We envision ‘Spice Alley’ almost like a mini Moroccan spice bazaar attached to the Hollywood Farmer’s Market,” said David Gajda, property owner of the Café Etc. and St Felix buildings. “After a morning spent shopping at the Farmer’s Market, visitors can pick up some exotic spices to flavor their meals—then sit in one of EaCa Alley’s restaurant patios, enjoy some live music, have a spicy cocktail and try new dishes that’ll zing their palates.”

Vine Street Garage Open 2/25/2013 1627 Vine Street
Conveniently located just south of Hollywood Blvd. on Vine Street, the brand new Vine Street Garage is a city-owned parking structure with 457 parking spaces.  The facility is fully automated and will be open 24/7.  Pricing is $2 each 20 minutes with a $12 daily maximum; $10 flat rate between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m.  Monthly parking is also available starting at $100 per month.
Tinhorn Flats Now Open in Hollywood 2/1/2013 1724 N. Highland Ave

Joe's Pizza Expanding 8/30/2012 6504 Hollywood Blvd.
Joe's Pizza currently has two LA locations, including one at 6504 Hollywood Blvd., serving up delicious, New York-style pizza pies.  The company has now announced it is expanding, with three new LA locations on the way, plus a mobile food truck.  “There’s no doubt that Joe’s Pizza has become the ultimate go-to spot for New York pies in LA. Our secret? Hide it, Lock it, Keep it! 7/18/2012
LAPD Hollywood would like to remind everyone to use caution when visiting Hollywood to avoid theft from vehicles.  If you have valuables in your car, please remove them if possible when leaving your car.  If you have to leave them in your car, make sure they are hidden from site, and that your windows are up and doors are locked.  This will go a long way to preventing theft from your vehicles! 
Metro Extends Late Night Service 7/13/2012
All Metro Rail train lines and the Orange Line will now run until 2 a.m. on Friday and Saturday nights starting the weekend of July 27-28, 2012.  The Metro Orange Line will run until 2:40 a.m. in order to meet the last trains at the North Hollywood Metro Rail Station.  Trains will run every 20 minutes between midnight and 2 a.m.

The Hollywood Entertainment District has launched a brand new, mobile-friendly website, HollywoodHQ (www.HollywoodHQ.us), to make it easier for visitors to find out what's going on, where to eat, drink, and shop, and how to get around in Hollywood.  Optimized to work on all mobile devices including smart phones and tablets, the site functions similarly to an "app" but requires no download.  Simply go to the site, chose an itinerary to follow, or search for whatever you're looking for!

EaCa Alley Now Open 2/29/2012
The EaCa Alley, Los Angeles' first pedestrian alley, is now open!  Located parallel to the Cahuenga Corridor, on the east side, between Selma Ave. and Hollywood Blvd., the first of its kind project was coordinated through the City of Los Angeles Bureau of Street Services, the CRA, the HPOA, and the individual property and business owners in the vicinity.  Already, several of the restaurants and bars along the alley are taking advantage of the new open space with outdoor dining.
